Ryan Osborn, Todd Grantham and Kenyatta Wright are on one serious heater right now. Just days after landing one of the top defensive linemen in the country in Danny Beale III, they’ve done it again.

Owasso d-tackle Tajh Overton announced his commitment to Oklahoma State on Friday afternoon on X.

OSU’s recruitment of Overton was headed up by Osborn and he and the others were pretty relentless even when it looked like the 6-5, 275-pounder was almost certainly headed elsewhere. It paid off first in the form of an official visit to Stillwater on June 17-19. Fast-forward to today and he’s a Cowboy. It’s worth noting he took an OV to Oklahoma immediately after his OSU visit.

He is the 13th-overall verbal commitment for OSU’s 2026 class. He’s the fourth with a four-star ranking by Rivals.

His commitment is the product of a renewed focus on locking down the in-state talent around Stillwater. Three of the four-stars in the class hail from Oklahoma. Bixby’s Trey McGlothlin and Jenks running back Kaydin Jones are the other two.

Overton is ranked fourth in the state of Oklahoma by Rivals and On3. On3’s Industry Ranking, which is a composite of the four major ranking services, has him at No. 3.

He chose OSU over offers from the likes of Oklahoma, Florida, Florida State, LSU, Ole Miss, Nebraska, Texas and USC, among many others (click on his player card below for the full list).

Suffice it to say it’s been quite some time since OSU landed two defensive linemen of this caliber in the same class. It might go all the way back to Mike Gundy’s very first class when the Cowboys landed Xavier Lawson-Kennedy and Brad Girtman. That may be worth a deep-dive later in a different article…but suffice it to say, it’s been a long time.
