Temple 27, UTSA 21: Postgame audio

PHILADELPHIA — Temple used a 21-point third quarter to erase a slow start and beat UTSA, 27-21, Saturday at Lincoln Financial to improve to 3-2 overall and win its American Conference opener.
Quarterback Evan Simon completed 16 of his 25 passes for 181 yards and two touchdowns, and Temple’s defense held Robert Henry Jr., who came into the game as the nation’s second-leading rusher, to just 42 yards on 12 carries.
The Owls went ahead for good at the 1:30 mark of the third quarter on a 15-yard touchdown pass from Simon to tight end Peter Clarke, who caught four passes for 82 yards Saturday.
Temple will host Navy next Saturday at 4 p.m. in the program’s homecoming game at the Linc. The Midshipmen improved to 5-0 Saturday with a 34-31 win over Air Force Saturday in Annapolis.
