Temple lands two more 2026 commitments ahead of Signing Day

by: John DiCarlo12/02/25jdicarlo

With the first day of the early December signing period approaching Wednesday, Temple’s football program got word of two more verbal commitments from the 2026 class on Tuesday.

Strong safety Josiah Jackson, a product of Garden City Community College who started his career at West Virginia, announced his decision on X a little before 10 a.m. Tuesday morning. Former USF verbal commit Karon Spencer, an offensive lineman from Maryland’s Our Lady of Good Counsel High School, followed suit a little more than an hour later.

The announcements from Jackson and Spencer bring Temple’s total to 27 players from the 2026 class who have publicly announced commitments to the Owls, and there are two other players from the class who committed to head coach K.C. Keeler and his staff earlier in the recruiting cycle who have not announced but are expected to sign with the program Wednesday, according to several sources familiar with their recruitment.

As of Tuesday afternoon, On3 ranked Temple’s 2026 class at 70th nationally and third in the American Conference, behind USF and Memphis.

Jackson, a 6-foot-1, 195-pound Cincinnati native and graduate of Fairfield High School, posted 34 tackles and an interception in 10 games for Garden City this season as a redshirt sophomore. He came to West Virginia as a January 2023 midyear enrollee and played a handful of snaps against Duquesne and Oklahoma before redshirting that season. On3 regarded Jackson, who garnered offers from several Power 4 programs like Vanderbilt, Cincinnati and Indiana, as the 20th-best cornerback in the 2023 class.

Spencer, a 6-6, 310-pound left tackle who reports an 84-inch wingspan, had offers from programs like West Virginia, James Madison and Navy, as well as Ivy League programs like Penn and Brown. Our Lady of Good Counsel finished 6-5 this season, playing a competitive schedule that included St. Joseph’s Prep and DeMatha, the 13th-ranked team in the nation per MaxPreps.
