Adam Fisher and his revamped Temple squad are set to open their 2025-26 season against Delaware State on November 5 at the Liacouras Center, OwlScoop.com has learned.

The Hornets, coached by Stan Waterman, went 16-14 for their first winning season since 2015. That record included three wins over Non-D1 opponents but also featured losses against Virginia Tech, Providence and Texas. Waterman’s program finished third in the MEAC with an 8-6 record before losing in the first round of the conference tournament against North Carolina Central.

The Hornets lost the bulk of their scoring in the offseason as the program’s three leading scorers all left. Robert Smith, a Bishop McDevitt product and the MEAC’s third-leading scorer at 18 points per game, ran out of eligibility, as did Martaz Robinson and his 16.3 points per game. West Catholic alum Kaseem Watson, meanwhile, transferred to UTEP after he who averaged 15.5 points and 5.8 rebounds per game. Interestingly, Watson’s identical twin, Kareem, is still on Delaware State’s roster.

Former St. Joe’s and Wagner guard Rahmir Moore, the younger brother of Temple great Ramone, has joined the program and should provide a veteran scoring option for the Hornets. The Philadelphia native has started 40 games in his collegiate career but, due to injuries, has played in just five games the last two seasons.

With the addition of Delaware State, Temple’s out of conference schedule is mostly complete. The Owls have one slot available on their docket.
