Capel, Minor and Cummings Speak After Pitt Defeats Longwood

PITTSBURGH — The Pitt men’s basketball team fought through yet another slow offensive start on Friday night before it eventually pulled away for a 78-60 victory against Longwood.
With the Lancers actively trying to eliminate any paint chances for the Panthers by double-teaming Cam Corhen, the Panthers needed their guards to step up and hit some threes. Damarco Minor and Brandin Cummings were the two players to do just that.
Minor led all scorers in the game with 23 points on a 4-of-7 shooting day from three-point range. Cummings tallied 19 points in the win as he made 5-of-8 three-point attempts. The two combined for 42 points on just 18 field goal attempts.
Capel, along with Minor and Cummings, broke down the team’s ability to shoot the three, the offensive struggles and more following the game.
