Cole Gonzales knew he wanted a change of scenery for his senior year. Still recovering from an injury, Gonzales entered the transfer portal following three years at Western Carolina. The quarterback from Gainesville, Fla. always dreamt of playing in the SEC. His father, Billy Gonzales, is the current wide receivers coach at Florida. Experiencing SEC football through his father developed the desire to play on that level. When Oklahoma came calling, he couldn’t pass up the opportunity, even with his former offensive coordinator Kade Bell pushing for him to land at Pitt.
