Duquesne Basketball Recruiting News

As we’re less than 30 days from the start of basketball season, HC Dru Joyce and Duquesne have extended a few offers.
Over the last couple of days, Duquesne has extended offers to these players in the Class of 2027.
Landon Evans: 2027 shooting guard from Pickerington Central High School in Pickerington, Ohio. Evans (6’5″, 185-pounds) received the offer while making an unofficial visit to Duquesne. Along with Duquesne, Evans also holds offers from Miami, Ohio, Western Michigan, Ohio University, Kent State, Toledo and Cleveland State.
D.J. Gaines: 2027 point guard from Westminster Academy in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Gaines (5’11”, 160) received the offer from Duquesne assistant Chase Goldstein. Along with Duquesne, Gaines holds other offers from Stetson, Florida Atlantic, Florida A&M, Purdue Fort Wayne, Ohio University, Arkansas State.
Desean Clayton: 2028 point guard from Westminster Academy in Fort Lauderdale. This becomes the first D-1 offer for Clayton.
Duquesne will open the 2025-26 season on November 3rd when they host Niagra at the UPMC Cooper Fieldhouse.
