Duquesne WBB Sets Burt Era Record In Victory

The Duquesne Women’s Basketball Team improved to 2-0 on the season, setting a Dan Burt era record for point with its 108-53 victory over Slippery Rock Thursday night at the UPMC Cooper Fieldhouse.
A game after achieving her first career double-double, Gabby Grantham-Medley was at it again setting a career high with 17 points. Mackenzie Blackford also accumulated 17 points and a career high four steals. A total of six Dukes achieved double figures as the pair was joined by Nadia Moore (13), Dunja Zecevic (12), Alexis Bordas (11 and a +47) and Raevin Washington (10).
Maja Rohkohl added nine rebounds, while Fatou Sane set a career high of her own with seven rebounds.
For a second consecutive game, Duquesne had all 11 of its active players score and grab a rebound. As a team the Dukes shot 45.9% from the field, 52.2% from three-point range and 78.3% from the free-throw line.
Duquesne won the rebounding battle 57-29 and forced 27 turnovers This is the first time since the 2022-23 season that Duquesne has started a campaign 2-0.
Slippery Rock was paced by Sophia Hook’s 11 points.
