Winning gets you attention and that’s exactly what’s happening with the Pitt Panthers football program this weekend.

ESPN has announced that they’ll be bringing their widely popular College GameDay program to town for Pitt’s game against Top 10 Notre Dame. This is the first time Pitt has hosted GameDay since 2005 when they hosted Notre Dame.

ESPN’s Rece Davis, Kirk Herbstreit, Desmond Howard, Nick Saban and Pittsburgh native Pat McAfee will broadcast their show from the Notre Shore from 9 AM until Noon.

Fans are encouraged to arrive early and take part in this national broadcast from Pittsburgh.

“We’re thrilled to welcome College GameDay back to Pittsburgh, said Pitt AD Allen Greene. “This is an incredible opportunity to showcase our city, our university, and the passion of Panther Nation on college football’s biggest stage. I can’t wait to unleash our fans and show the country what Pitt is all about.”

The exact broadcast location for GameDay hasn’t been announced yet.

In addition to GameDay, the ACC Network’s ACC Huddle pregame show with Taylor Tannebaum, Jimbo Fisher, Eric MacLain and Eddie Royal will broadcast their show from 10 AM until Noon.

In addition to all of this, the Pitt football program will be retiring Aaron Donald’s No. 97 jersey at halftime, along with a special tribute commemorating the 50th anniversary of Tony Dorsett’s legendary 303-yard rushing performance against Notre Dame.

By the way, this will be a game of two streaking teams as Notre Dame enters winning seven straight, while Pitt finds themselves on a 5-game winning stream and tied for first place in the ACC.
