Former Pitt QB Tino Sunseri Fired as UCLA OC

The UCLA Bruins football program is a mess and because of that Tino Sunseri paid the price.
The former Central Catholic High School and Pitt quarterback has been let go as UCLA’s offensive coordinator just four games into the season. This was Sunseri’s first season with the Bruins after serving as co-offensive coordinator last season at Indiana.
Sunseri, 36, will be replaced by 33-year-old Jerry Neuheisel, the son of former UCLA head coach Rick Neuheisel. This will be Neuheisel’s first job as an offensive coordinator after having been wide receiver’s coach with Chip Kelly (2021-23) and tight ends coach under previous HC DeShaun Foster.
The dismissal of Sunseri is just another major move by UCLA, after having previously firing Foster along with defensive coordinator Ikaika Malle.
In 4 games, UCLA has scored just 57 points while giving up 125.
UCLA has started the 2025 season with a record of 0-4, having lost to Utah (43-10), UCLA (30-23), New Mexico (35-10) and Northwestern (17-14).
Up next for the Bruins will be a matchup this Saturday hosting Penn State.
