Former Pitt Star MJ Devonshire Signs with Baltimore

Former Pitt star cornerback MJ Devonshire is getting another chance at an NFL roster as today; he signs a deal with the Baltimore Ravens.
Devonshire is getting this training camp opportunity because of the unfortunate injury to Bilhal Kone. The rookie 6th-round pick from Western Michigan suffered a torn ACL and MCL in the Ravens preseason opener on Thursday.
Because of this injury, the Ravens were in need of a cornerback, which led to the signing of Devonshire.
The 5-foot-11 Devonshire was expecting to be battling for a roster spot with the Carolina Panthers but was waived right at the start of camp.
This becomes the third NFL team that he’s been a member of since getting selected in the 7th round of the 2024 NFL Draft by the Las Vegas Raiders. After spending his entire rookie season on the Raiders practice squad, Devonshire was released in offseason before getting claimed off waivers by the Panthers in April.
Even with the injury, the Ravens still have quality depth at cornerback with Marlon Humphrey, Nate Wiggins, Jaire Alexander, Chidobe Awuzie and Jalyn Armour-Davis so Devonshire has work to do in order to catch the eye of John Harbaugh and the coaching staff.
