For the first time since ACC expansion a couple years ago, the Pitt football team will be traveling out West next weekend to take on one of their newest conference members.

Pat Narduzzi and his team will have the long flight out to California to go up against the Stanford Cardinal.

This morning, the ACC conference announced kickoff times for next weekend’s games and have given Pitt vs. Stanford a 3:30 PM (eastern) start time. The game will be shown on the ACC Network.

This will be Pitt’s first game played at Stanford since 1922, a game in which the Panthers won 16-7. Those two teams did play each other in the Sun Bowl, back in 2018. The Cardinal won that contest, 14-13.

Stanford enters this week with a record of 3-4 and 2-2 and coming off a 20-13 win over reeling Florida State. Their other two wins came against Boston College (30-20) and San Jose State (30-29). Stanford’s four losses were to Hawaii (23-20), BYU (27-3), Virginia (48-20) and SMU (34-10).

This weekend, Pitt will host NC State, while Stanford travels to Miami, Fla.

A former Pitt standout is in charge of the Stanford offense as former Panther tight end Nate Byham is their offensive coordinator.
