Kickoff Time Set for Pitt/Boston College

Following a week off, the Pitt Panthers return to action this Saturday when they host Louisville starting at Noon from Acrisure Stadium.
This morning, the ACC conference announced kickoff times for next weekend’s games, including Pitt’s home game against the Boston College Eagles.
It should come as no surprise that this matchup, which doesn’t have much appeal, has been given a Noon kickoff on the ACC Network. Pitt is currently 2-1, coming off a 31-24 OT loss to West Virginia, while Boston College is 1-2.
Like Pitt, Bill O’Brien’s team was one a bye this past weekend, following a 30-20 loss at Stanford the week prior. Boston College’s other loss came on the road at Michigan State, 42-40.
Another similarity with these two teams is that both of their starting quarterbacks started their college careers with Alabama. This past offseason, Dylan Lonergan transferred to BC from Alabama, with Eli Holstein coming to Pitt following the 2023 season.
In 3 games this season, Lonergan is 90 of 123 (73.2%) for 991 yards, 9 touchdowns and 1 interception. In comparison, Holstein is 58 of 88 (65.9%) for 822 yards 9 touchdowns and 3 interceptions.
When looking at team statistics, Boston College has scored 126 points, while giving up 82 points. In Pitt’s 3 games, they scored 130 points, while allowing 57.
As mentioned, Pitt will host Louisville on Saturday in their ACC opener, while BC will be hosting California starting 3:30 PM.
