PITTSBURGH — Pitt football’s linebacker corps will once again rely on its depth against NC State, even more so than the Panthers did against Syracuse.

Starting outside linebacker Rasheem Biles is out for the second straight week, per the ACC gameday availability report. Nick Lapi, who started in Biles’ place last week against Syracuse, is also out against the Wolfpack.

On the other side, outside linebacker Kyle Louis was initially listed as a game-time decision, but has since been rule out, according to a Pitt spokesperson. He took a hit to the head in the first quarter against Syracuse and subsequently went to the locker room and did not return.

Starting defensive end Blaine Spires is also a game-time decision for the Panthers. He has not played since the Louisville matchup.

With Pitt’s linebacker room taking on the brunt of the injuries, Cameron Lindsey will most likely be the next up and start for Louis. Walk-on and Chartiers Valley grad Abe Ibrahim could also be in line to start for Biles. Freshman Emmanuel Taylor will also be involved in the rotation, along with redshirt freshman Davin Brewton.

Cornerbacks Shadarian Harrison and Rashan Murray, along with long snapper Nilay Upadhyayula are no longer listed on the report, indicating they will be available against NC State.

Left tackle Jeff Persi and defensive end Jaeden Moore were ruled out for the NC State matchup on Thursday.
