Pitt Adds Another Elite 2026 Recruit in 4-Star Anthony Felesi
The Jeff Capel/Jay Kuntz recruiting machine keeps on rolling as for the third time in the last month, Pitt has landed a 2026 high 4-star recruit.
This afternoon, 4-star wing Anthony Felesi confirms to Pittsburgh Sports Now that he’s committed to Pitt. Felesi (6’5″, 180-pound) is from Utah Prep in Orem, Utah is ranked by as the No. 61 overall prospect in the Class of 2026 by Rivals/On3 Sports.
Felesi was down to a final five of Pitt, BYU, UCLA, USC and San Diego State but in the end decided to leave the West Coast and join this rising Pitt program.
The Pitt coaching staff did a tremendous job of recruiting Felesi, especially when he made his official visit to Pitt in September.
Aside from the family atmosphere that surrounds the program, another huge factor was Pitt previously landing 4-star forward Roman Siulepa, who will have a major role on Pitt’s team this season. Both Siulepa and Felesi are of Polynesian descent.
Prior to making his official visit to Pitt, Felesi had this to say to PSN about Capel and the Pitt program.
“Coach Capel and Pitt started recruiting me at the beginning of this year,” said Felesi. “My agent and Coach Capel actually have a really good relationship as well. Another factor is that I’m Polynesian and there’s another Polynesian (Roman Siulepa) on the team so that’s kind of a big factor as well. Basketball wise, Coach Capel believes that I’m someone that can go in there and make a quick impact as well as a very big impact at Pitt.”
When describing his game, Felesi says that he’s a very energetic player and “I’d also say that I’m probably the best defensive player in the country.” He went on to say that he’s able to get to all of his spots on the court and is able to get a bucket when his team needs it.
The obvious news from my talk with Felesi was him talking about his Polynesian culture and the impact Siulepa could have on his future decision.
“The biggest thing though is that he’s Samoan and I’m Samoan as well. It’s kind of crazy to me that because you don’t see a lot of Samoans in college basketball, I think it would be very pleasant if you saw two Samoans on the court. Just the Polynesian culture, it’s a huge blessing to see two Polynesian people playing basketball at the highest level.”
With this latest get, Pitt will likely have the highest rated recruiting class in the history of their program, possibly Top 10 nationally.
Pitt’s 2026 Commitments:
-Anthony Felesi: 4-star wing (No. 61 nationally)
–Chase Foster: 4-star forward (No. 38 nationally)
–Jermal Jones Jr.: 4-star shooting guard (No. 92 nationally)
