A few days after Pitt football announced the cancellation of a nonconference game, another game on the 2026 schedule has been confirmed.

Pitt will play the Bucknell Bison, according to Abby Schnable of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette. Pittsburgh Sports Now has confirmed this report.

According to Schnable, Pitt and Bucknell have had a signed agreement in place for a few years now, but there was never an official announcement. While there’s no official date yet, the game is expected to be played in September.

On Dec. 5, the Pitt program made a formal announcement that its 2026 matchup at Wisconsin was canceled, per a mutual agreement between the two schools.

Pitt is anticipating a nine-game ACC schedule, thus leaving three nonconference games at hand. Along with Bucknell, the Panthers will play Miami (OH) on Sept. 5 and UCF on Sept. 12 at Acrisure Stadium.

Pitt and Bucknell have not met since 1945. The Panthers are 7-2 overall agains the Bison.
