Pitt Injury Report: Initial Player Availability Against Georgia Tech

The initial injury report has been released for Pitt football’s matchup against No. 16 Georgia Tech, per the ACC’s required availability report.
Pitt has four starters listed as questionable: Running back Desmond Reid, defensive tackle Sean FitzSimmons, left guard Ryan Carretta and placekicker Trey Butkowski.
Reid left the Notre Dame game in the second half with what appeared to be a lower-body injury. He has missed three full games this season as he has dealt with ankle and hamstring injuries. Reid has compiled 278 rushing yards and 317 receiving yards on the season, along with five total touchdowns.
FitzSimmons, a redshirt junior, started the first nine games of the season at defensive tackle before missing the Notre Dame game with an injury. He has totaled 20 tackles, two tackles for loss and a sack.
Carretta suffered an injury late in the fourth quarter against Notre Dame. He has started the last six games after starter Keith Gouveia was lost for the season against Louisville.
Butkowski missed the Notre Dame game with an “illness.” The true freshman has been exceptional for the Panthers this season, hitting 19-of-21 fields goals with a long of 47. He broke the Pitt record of 16 consecutive makes. He is also 40-of-41 on PATs.
The only notable Panther out against Georgia Tech is Nick Lapi. All other players listed as out have suffered season-ending injuries except for true freshman Denim Cook.
Lapi, a redshirt senior, started against Syracuse but suffered an injury that has kept him out the last three games.
