The initial injury report has been released for Pitt football’s matchup against Stanford, per the ACC’s required availability report.

Once again, Pitt’s linebacker unit is dealing with a bulk of the injury news with star outside linebackers Kyle Louis and Rasheem Biles listed as questionable. Louis missed last week’s game after suffering a head injury against Syracuse. Biles has missed two games in a row.

Nick Lapi, Biles’ backup, is officially listed as out for the Stanford matchup with an undisclosed injury. He did not play against NC State after making his first career start against Syracuse the week prior.

Starting left tackle Jeff Persi is also out for the Panthers as well, along with defensive end Blaine Spires. Persi, a sixth-year senior, has not played since the first quarter of the Boston College game. Spires missed several weeks with an injury, but made his return against NC State. Now, he’s back on the shelf.

Star running back Desmond Reid, wide receiver Kenny Johnson and safety Cruce Brookins are all listed as questionable. Reid has been dealing with a nagging ankle injury that kept him out for two games against Louisville and Boston College.

Johnson took a hard hit on a touchdown play against NC State last week at the end of the first half. He was spotted on the sidelines during the second half in a jacket with his right arm tucked in the jacket.

As for Brookins, he appeared to be woozy after a hit in the first half against NC State and did not play in the second half.

Of note, defensive end Jaeden Moore is no longer listed as out, indicating he could be available for the Panthers against Stanford. The redshirt sophomore Oregon transfer has yet to play a game this season as he deals with an injury suffered in training camp.
