Pitt Injury Report: Initial Player Availability vs. Florida State

The initial availability report for the upcoming Pitt-Florida State matchup has been released.

Pitt will be without six two-deep players on Saturday. Starting defensive end Blaine Spires will miss a second consecutive game, while starting left tackle Jeff Persi will miss his first game of the season after suffering an injury on the first drive a week ago against Boston College.

Backup defensive ends Zach Crothers and Joey Zelinsky are also out. Crothers will miss his second straight game. Zelinsky played 19 snaps against Boston College. DE Jaeden Moore is also out again as he has yet to play a game this season.

Additionally on the offensive line, backup left guard Jackson Brown will miss a second game in a row.

Running back Desmond Reid is listed as questionable. He has not played since suffering an injury in the first quarter against West Virginia in Week 3.

Pitt’s secondary is also still dealing with injury troubles. Starting safeties Javon McIntyre and Cruce Brookins are listed as questionable, along with starting cornerback Tamon Lynum. Lynum has missed the last three games. Backup corner Rashan Murray is also listed as questionable.

Other Pitt players listed as out: LB Jayden Bonsu (season), LB Jeremiah Marcelin (season), RB Derrick Davis Jr. (season), LG Keith Gouveia (season), RB Jaylin Brown (long-term), RB Synkwan Smith (long-term), TE Adam Howanitz and LS Nilay Upadhyayula.

Florida State quarterback Tommy Castellanos is listed as probable, along with RB Roydell Williams and DL Kevin Wynn.

WR Squirrel White, TE Randy Pittman Jr., WR Jayvan Boggs, DB Ashlynd Barker, LB Caleb LaVallee and OL Micah Pettus are all questionable.

Out for the Seminoles: RB Kam Davis, WR Gavin Blackwell, DL Daemontae Diggs, DB Quindarrius Jones, QB Gavin Markey, TE Chase Loftin and LB Ethan Pritchard.

ACC Availability Report Details

The availability report will only contain information regarding the student athlete’s name and availability status. Nothing pertaining specific injuries will be reported.

Football teams are required to release three availability reports prior to a game. The initial report will come out two nights before the game, no later than 8:00 p.m. local time. The second report will be provided the night before the game, no later than 8:00 p.m. local time where the game will be played.

A game day report will then be required no later than two hours before the scheduled game time.

Specific status designations are as follows:

— Available (available to play)

— Probable (likely to play/greater than 50% chance to play)

— Questionable (uncertain to play / less than 50% chance to play)

— Out (will not play / 0% chance to play)
