Pitt Lands Three Players on Senior Bowl 300 List

As preseason accolades around college football continue to be revealed, another important watch list was released featuring three Pitt players that NFL scouts are watching closely.
The Senior Bowl announced Wednesday the first-ever Top 300 list and that included Pitt running back Desmond Reid, offensive lineman Jeff Persi and linebacker Kyle Louis.
In the past, the Senior Bowl has released a watch list of 850 players, but this year narrowed it down to 300. The Senior Bowl is one of the top pre-draft showcases for aspiring NFL players coming out of college.
In 2024, Reid compiled an all-purpose All-American campaign as a junior for the Panthers. The 5-foot-8, 175-pound Reid thrived in Kade Bell’s offense after transferring with him from Western Carolina. He rushed for 962 yards and five touchdowns, including a long of 72 yards against Cal, as well as 52 receptions for 579 yards and four touchdowns.
Reid earned all-purpose Second Team All-America honors and First Team All-ACC recognition. He finished fifth in the country with 154.91 all-purpose yards per game.
Louis had a breakout season for the Panthers in 2024 as he became the program’s 100th First Team All-American and the first sophomore defensive player in the program’s history to earn the honor since legendary Hugh Green did so in 1978. In a remarkable season, he totaled 101 tackles (second-most on team), a team-high 15.5 tackles for loss, seven sacks and four interceptions.
As for Persi, the 6-foot-8, 315-pound offensive tackle transferred to Pitt from Michigan. In five seasons with the Wolverines, he appeared in 41 games with three career starts. He was a contributor on the Joe Moore Award-winning offensive line, along with the 2023 national championship team.
