Pitt is still looking for its first commitment in the class of 2026, and while players like Neiko Mundey and Ethan Mgbako have emerged as top targets, the Panthers added another recruit to the board this week.

Jeff Capel extended an offer to Jalyn Collingwood on Monday, and he’s blown up since.

Collingwood – a 6-foot-6 forward from Sidwell Friends in Washington, D.C. – has picked up offers from Ohio State, Virginia Tech, Vanderbilt, Georgetown and Mississippi State since Pitt came calling.

He also holds offers from Arizona State, Boston College, Butler, Iowa State, Murray State, Norfolk State, Oklahoma State, Texas Tech and Xavier.

Collingwood is coming off a strong showing at the 3SSB Championships, showcasing a wide array of talent. He threw down poster dunks, pulled up for off-the-dribble buckets and flashed an all-around versatility that points to his ability at the next level.

Pitt was in attendance to watch Collingwood throughout the tournament, extending the first of his many offers.

He’s an intriguing prospect, one that offers an exciting blend of two-way ability entering his senior season at Sidwell Friends, and it will be important for Capel and the Panthers to land one of his official visits in the coming months.

Pitt is still searching for its first commitment in the class, but Mgbako has already taken a visit, and Mundey is scheduled for his official visit next month.

Pitt was active in the high school ranks in the class of 2025, landing guards Omari Witherspoon and Macari Moore – also adding foreign recruits Henry Lau and Kieran Mullen.
