Pitt Ranked No. 24 in Initial CFP Rankings

The Pitt football team received some good news in terms of national publicity on Tuesday night.

The initial College Football Playoff Rankings were revealed and Pitt came in at No. 24, this despite not being ranked in the various national polls.

This No. 24 ranking comes on the heels of Pitt winning five games in a row and improving their overall record to 7-2. During this 5-game winning streak, Pitt has scored 200 points, which is the most in the country, while ranking second nationally with 2,229 total yards.

Pitt is currently 5-1 in the ACC, which puts them 1 game behind Virginia (5-0) for first place.

The Panthers are on a bye this week and then will face a stiff challenge as they take on Notre Dame, Georgia Tech and Miami of Fla.
