Pitt Receives Boost as RB Desmond Reid Returns vs. Florida State

Pitt football is receiving a boost for its matchup against No. 25 Florida State as star running back and All-Purpose All-American Desmond Reid is back.
According to Stephen Thompson of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, Reid has been officially cleared against FSU and is not expected to be limited on any snap count.
Reid, a 5-8, 175-pound senior, missed the past two games with an ankle injury he sustained in the first quarter of the Backyard Brawl against West Virginia. He was originally listed as a game-time decision, per the ACC game day availability report.
Safeties Cruce Brookins and Javon McIntyre, along with cornerback Tamon Lynum were also listed as game-time decisions. Both are dressed went through warmups, according to Thompson.
In three games so far this season, Reid has compiled 142 yards and one touchdown on 24 carries. He’s added six receptions for 71 yards and 105 punt returns yards and a score.
Redshirt freshman Juelz Goff and Ja’Kyrian Turner filled in for Reid over the past two weeks and put together a strong performance against Boston College. Goff recorded 17 touches for 59 yards and a touchdown, while Turner totaled 67 yards and one touchdown against the Eagles.
In his first season in the Power Four, Reid earned all-purpose Second Team All-America honors and First Team All-ACC recognition. He finished fifth in the country with 154.91 all-purpose yards per game. He rushed for 962 yards and five touchdowns, along with 52 receptions for 579 yards and four touchdowns.
