Despite finishing the regular season with a record of 8-4 and in contention for the ACC championship game until the final week, Pitt isn’t being rewarded for their efforts.

In a chaotic day of college football bowl news, it was announced that Pitt will take on East Carolina in the Military Bowl.

The Military Bowl is played on December 27th at 11 AM in Annapolis, Maryland and televised on ESPN.

More attractive bowl, such as the Holiday Bowl, Sun Bowl, Pop Tart Bowl, etc. were speculated on but in the end, it will be the Military Bowl, which is no doubt a disappointment for the Pitt team and their fan base.

The Panthers take on East Carolina (8-4), which is a member of the American Conference. The Pirates best win this season came against Memphis (31-27), with their four losses against UTSA (58-24), NC State (24-17), BYU (34-13) AND Tulane (26-19).

East Carolina is a high-scoring team that averages 33.5 points per game and are led by quarterback Katin Houser, who passed for 3,330 yards with 19 touchdowns and 6 interceptions.

Pitt played in the Military Bowl back in 2015, where they lost to Navy, 44-28.

With a win, Pitt would improve to 9-4, which would be only their third 9+ win season in the last 16 seasons.
