Pitt's Desmond Reid to Miss Georgia Tech Game

Pitt’s challenge of beating No. 16 Georgia Tech got more difficult as they’ll be without star running back Desmond Reid.
This doesn’t come as a surprise considering the way Reid walked off the field after re-injuring his ankle last Saturday against Notre Dame.
Unfortunately for Pitt, Reid has not been able to get that ankle completely healthy after originally injuring it in the West Virginia game.
Reid sat out for nearly a month before returning against Florida State and immediately had a huge impact, catching 8 passes for 155 yards and 2 touchdowns, while also rushing for 45 yards.
However, he re-injured the same ankle two weeks later in the second half against NC State. Because of Pitt’s bye week, Reid had time to rest the ankle prior to Notre Dame but once again, he left injured.
In the 7 games he’s played this season, Reid has only 60 carries for 278 yards and 2 touchdowns. However, his impact as come in the passing game with 23 catches for 317 yards (13 yards per catch) and 2 touchdowns.
Without Reid, the ground game will rely on the duo of Ja’Kyrian Turner and Juelz Goff. Turner has been a pleasant surprise for Pitt with 93 carries for 416 yards and 6 touchdowns, while Goff has 61 carries for 235 yards and 4 touchdowns.
