Pitt's Kyle Louis Named ACC Linebacker of the Week

A week didn’t go by over the last two months that Pitt linebacker Kyle Louis was not mentioned in a preseason watch list.
Saturday finally provided an opportunity for the returning All-American to justify all the preseason buzz as he set the tone for his redshirt junior season with his first in-season honor.
On Tuesday, Louis was named the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) Linebacker of the Week.
Against Duquesne, Louis led Pitt with six tackles (three solo), three tackles for loss and two sacks of quarterback Tyler Riddell that came on consecutive plays. As expected, Louis was around every play and was a disruptor in the backfield.

A year ago, Louis took home two ACC Linebacker of the Week accolades coming against West Virginia and North Carolina. Louis was selected on the All-ACC First Team and ranked third in ACC Defensive Player of the Year voting.
The 6-foot-1, 220-pound linebacker compiled 101 tackles, 15.5 tackles for loss, seven sacks and a team-high four interceptions in 2024.
