Watch: Duquesne MBB & WBB Discuss Season At Tip-Off Event

While both the Duquesne Men’s and Women’s Basketball seasons do not start for another 11 days, a Thursday night tip-off event at the UPMC Cooper Fieldhouse provided fans with an opportunity meet each team for the first time.

The event was for season ticket holders but also available for the general public and featured introductions of each team, opportunities to mingle, words from men’s coach Dru Joyce III and women’s coach Dan Burt and a couple of competitions.

Both teams competed together in hot shot and three-point shooting competitions. The team of freshmen guard Alexis Bordas and graduate student forward John Hugley IV emerged victorious in the three-point shooting contest and Faith Walker’s halfcourt effort helped her team consisting of teammate Dunja Zecevic, David Dixon and Jakub Necas.

Afterwards PSN’s Zachary Weiss met with each team’s head coach and select student-athletes as everyone took a look at the upcoming season.
