Stream of Consciousness Hudl Watching: Donovan Webb

He runs with intent, like he knows exactly where he’s going and what needs to happen when he gets there. There’s a physical edge to the way he plays, not wild or out of control, but deliberate. Tough. Aggressive in the right ways. He’s got the ball skills of an offensive player, the kind where if it’s in the air, he believes it’s his, like he’s supposed to come down with it every time.
He’s a big guy, but he doesn’t look out of place at safety. Moves well, covers ground, sees things early. You can tell he understands the game, not just where to be, but why. Knows the flow of it, reads it like someone who’s been around football his whole life.
He could honestly play anywhere. Safety, linebacker, running back, even slot or tight end. He just gets it. The kind of player who doesn’t need to be boxed into one role because he’s just that versatile. Just a football player through and through.
And when you watch him, you think—yeah, he looks like the kind of kid who ends up at Michigan or Notre Dame. But now, this is the kind of guy who comes to Texas Tech. And that says something.
