Orlando native Donovan Williams commits to UCF Basketball

Class of 2026 point guard Donovan Williams is staying home.
The Orlando native, who plays at national powerhouse Oak Hill Academy in Virginia, committed to UCF on Wednesday, becoming the second high school pledge in the Knights’ 2026 recruiting class.
The 6-foot-3 Williams chose UCF over an impressive offer list that included Florida State, Arizona State, West Virginia, Illinois, South Florida, Duquesne, George Mason, Texas State and many others.
He took an official visit to UCF the weekend of Oct. 3.
Rivals ranks Williams as the No. 21 point guard and the No. 134 overall player in the Class of 2026.
“I’m a three-level scorer,” Williams told On3 in an interview earlier this year. “And I like to score it, but my game is getting everyone involved. The coaches tell me that I’m a winner. I’m picking up 94-feet, getting a lot of steals, and getting into it more like that. Really though, all that matters to me is winning.
”I watch a lot of Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, that’s really the main person I watch. His mid-range game and how he gets in there for a lot of steals and plays defense.”
He joins Christian Gibson, a shooting guard from Houston, as UCF’s two high school commitments for 2026. Together, they form the core of a class currently ranked No. 22 nationally and No. 4 in the Big 12.
