The UConn Huskies have been adding a ton of talent in their 2022 recruiting class and it just got a little bit stronger recently adding one of the best in-state kids in athlete Victor Rosa out of Bristol Central High School.

The 5-foot-11, 187-pound prospect spoke with Storrs Central shortly after announcing his commitment.

“UConn was the first to believe in me and offer me,” Rosa told Storrs Central. “The coaching staff and I, specifically coach Corey Edsall have built a strong relationship over the past year. I always wanted to stay home and make the biggest impact possible and I want to go to the next level where I see myself seeing the field and doing whatever I can do to help the team succeed. I’ve been dreaming of this moment all my childhood growing up.”

Rosa took a trip to Storrs a little over a month ago and it helped to seal the deal for his commitment.

“I visited UConn back on June 2nd,” said Rosa. “I wanted to get out and visit them first because they were the first to get to me in my recruitment.I see myself making a significant impact at UConn and also with the new NIL rules, that was a big reason for what sold me on UConn.”

The BL22DBLUE recruiting class currently has 14 verbal commitments and it doesn’t appear that they are close to stopping their hot streak on the trail anytime soon.

Rosa has a few names in particular that he is currently working on to join him.

“Off the top of my head, I would love for my boy Kenny Soares to join the family and turn up with us,” he said. “ We could definitely do something special together and we need weapons like him. My message to guys like that is that we are building something here and turning this program around. Let’s make the move and make it official, let’s make a big name for yourself here together.”

The newest UConn commit is only about an hour away from campus and plans to get back for another visit as soon as the dead period comes to an end in a few weeks.
