UConn had a rough start to the season, but bounced back pretty well. After defeating Central Connecticut State to open up the year, they went on to lose the next two games against Syracuse and Delaware, both of which ended in overtime.

After that, the Huskies went on to win eight of their next nine games, with the lone loss coming against Rice. This marked the first time ever that the UConn Football program has ever had back to back seasons with at least nine wins.

On the flip side, Army also had a rough start to the year going 1-4 in their first five games with the lone win coming against Kansas State. The Black Knights would go on to win five of their next seven games to secure bowl eligibility.

For UConn, this will be their second year in a row in the bowl game, as they went to defeat North Carolina last season in the Fenway Bowl by a score of 27-14. For Army, this will be their first Fenway Bowl appearance and their seventh bowl game under head coach Jeff Monken.

All-Time Series History

This will be the 10th game all-time in the series, with UConn holding a 5-4 lead. The last game to take place between the two schools, Army ended up winning 34-17 in West Point, New York. The last time the Huskies won was back in 2015, where UConn won 22-17 in Storrs.
