2026 edge Carter Kessler announces West Virginia commitment

West Virginia has landed a commitment from Shelby (Oh.) 2026 edge Carter Kessler.
Kessler announced his decision on Instagram.
Kessler, 6-foot-5, 235-pounds, took an official visit to Morgantown over the weekend and saw enough to end his recruitment by committing to the Mountaineers.
The Ohio pass rusher received an offer from West Virginia Sept. 5 with defensive line coach William Green serving as the lead recruiter. Things progressed quickly between the two leading to his official visit to campus and subsequent commitment to the program.
Kessler had previously narrowed his list of options down to West Virginia, Ohio State and Memphis.
Along with West Virginia, Kessler also held an offer from Memphis.
Kessler is slated to play as a pass rushing option for the Mountaineers and becomes the 26th total commitment for West Virginia in the 2026 recruiting cycle.
