Roanoke (Va.) 2028 running back Kamharie Steelman will remember the first time that he spoke with West Virginia because it ended with a scholarship offer.

Steelman, 5-foot-10, 180-pounds, spoke with assistant offensive line coach Derek Dressler and it came completely by surprise but he quickly found that it was a good conversation.

“I was shocked because me and the coach hadn’t talked before,” he said. “But I know a little bit about WVU.”

The Mountaineers have been impressed with how he has performed at such a young age and the Big 12 Conference program became the second school to offer after Virginia Tech.

Steelman wants to make it to West Virginia to learn more about the program and is open to seeing what every school has to offer since he hasn’t really started the process of getting out to places.

“I would love to visit WVU,” he said.

Steelman isn’t looking to rush anything with the process but wants to find a place that is going to help him mature both on and off the field.
