Best Virginia set for TBT Semifinals against Eberlein Drive

Best Virginia is set for the Final Four of the TBT, and the West Virginia alumni group won’t have to travel far.
That’s because Thursday’s 6 p.m. matchup against Eberlein Drive will stay in Charleston where Best Virginia has won the first four games of the tournament.
It’s the first trip to the semifinals for Best Virginia in the quest for $1 million and having the game in the Mountain State is something that matters to the team given the support of the crowd.
“We relied on that. That’s very important. We’ve got another one at home,” head coach Jarrod West said.
Best Virginia used their effective pressure defense to get by Shell Shock, the Maryland alumni team, 74-61 in the quarterfinals and it’s become the calling card of the team.
“DNA is defense, pressure, defense, pressure, adults in the room. These guys have bought in,” West said.
Best Virginia held Shell Shock to just 38.6-percent shooting and 16-percent from three while forcing a total of 13 turnovers which turned into 13 points.
Prior to that game, Best Virginia won the West Virginia regional by beating No. 6 seed DuBois Dream 72-69, No. 2 seed Herd That 82-75 and No. 1 seed Elite Nation 79-68.
The team has been led by James Reese who averages 22.2 points per game, while former West Virginia forward Tre Mitchell averages 13.5 points and guard Kedrian Johnson is at 12.8 points per contest.
But they will take on an Eberlein Drive team that averages 81.5 points per game and is led by point guard Gabe York with 19.5 points, guard Anthony Clemons at 12.5 points per game and center Junathaen Watson at 11 points per game. But overall, the roster has seven players that have scored over 25 points in the tournament.
The matchup will pit the defense of Best Virginia against the what Eberlein Drive can do on the offensive end with the 12th most points per game in the tournament.
Eberlein Drive is coming off an 88-75 win against Sideline Center in the quarterfinals and also have beaten La Familia 71-70, Tampa Florida Pickup Basketball 86-68 and Richards Elite 81-63 to make it to this point.
The 12-time participant was in the final four last season as well.
The game will be televised by FS1 with the winner set to take on the winner of Aftershocks vs. We Are D3 in the championship game which is set for 4 p.m. Aug. 3 and will be televised by FOX.
