ESPN FPI favors Utah over WVU in updated projections

West Virginia heads into this weekend’s matchup with Utah as an underdog according to ESPN’s Football Power Index. The model gives the Utes a 72.2 percent chance to win, compared to 27.8 percent for the Mountaineers.

The challenge is clear in Morgantown, with Utah carrying the edge in the updated projections. But numbers aren’t final scores, and WVU has shown flashes of being able to rise in big spots.
