West Virginia picked up a pair of Big 12 honors following its 45-35 road win over No. 22 Houston, with defensive back Fred Perry named Defensive Player of the Week and quarterback Scotty Fox Jr. earning Freshman of the Week recognition.

Perry led the Mountaineer defense with 13 tackles, nine solo, along with two tackles for loss and one sack. His production helped spark a defensive effort that recorded four sacks, two interceptions, and forced three turnovers.

On offense, Fox continued to impress in his first season. The true freshman completed 13-of-22 passes for 157 yards and a touchdown while adding 65 rushing yards and two more scores. His poise and efficiency guided West Virginia to its most complete performance of the season.

The Mountaineers improved to 3-6 overall and will return home to face Colorado this Saturday at Milan Puskar Stadium.
