Six former West Virginia football players played in the NFL’s Week 5 slate, two players saw bye weeks and one landed on the inactive list. Here is a breakdown of how they played and their PFF grades.

Former WVU players in the NFL

Colton McKIvitz, T

The San Francisco 49ers’ top offensive lineman saw his worst grade of the season at 48. He allowed four quarterback pressures, two quarterback hits, one sack and totaled three penalties. Even with his struggles, the 49ers earned a 26-23 win against the Los Angeles Rams.

Geno Smith, QB

The Las Vegas Raiders quarterback saw his second consecutive week with significant struggles in a 40-6 loss against the Indianapolis Colts. While he completed 25-of-36 passes for 228 yards, he failed to throw a touchdown with two interceptions.

The Raiders have kept a long leash on Smith as the team sits at 1-4 with another quarterback yet to attempt a pass.

Rasul Douglas, CB

With the Miami Dolphins, Douglas struggled in coverage this week. He allowed a season high of five receptions on six targets, totaling 37 yards. But, he also accumulated a season-high six tackles in a 27-24 loss against the Carolina Panthers.

Dante Stills, DT

For the second week in a row, Stills saw a decrease in his PFF grade. At 38.3 in Week 5, his lowest of the season. He played in 38 snaps, making two tackles. Stills was effective in the pass rush, forcing one quarterback to hurry.

He saw a 22-21 loss with the Arizona Cardinals against the Tennessee Titans.

Rex Sunahara, LS

Sunahara has been a key pickup for the Clevland browns after he signed with the team in Week 6 last season. Through the Browns’ first five games, he is the third-highest graded player on the special teams unit, 76.0.

This week, he saw his largest workload of the season at 11 snaps in a 21-17 loss against the Minnesota Vikings. He was called on to snap for eight punts, where he assisted on a tackle and three kick attempts.

Austin Brinkman, LS

The other WVU long snapper in the league has not seen as much success as his counterpart. With a season grade of 61.2, Brinkman ranks 21st on the Houston Texans’ special team unit.

After three straight weeks with a mid-60s grade, Brinkman graded out at 55.4 in a 44-10 win against the Baltimore Ravens. He was not needed in the punt game as the Texans only punted once. Rather, he was used on eight kick attempts.

Zach Frazier,

As the Pittsburgh Steelers entered a bye week, Frazier is the second-highest graded lineman on the team at 65.1. He’s played in all 225 offensive snaps and has yet to allow a sack. The Steelers hold first place in the AFC North at 3-1.

David Sills V, WR

As a member of the Atlanta Falcons, Sills was on a bye week. Other than in Week 3 when he logged 16 offensive snaps, Skills has been used as a depth wide receiver, spending most of his time on the special teams unit.

Wyatt Milum, G

Milum has yet to make his NFL debut with a knee injury that has landed him on the inactive list through the Jacksonville Jaguars’ first five games.
