How former Mountaineers performed in NFL Week 3

Nine former West Virginia football players suited up for their respective teams, with one landing on the inactive list in the NFL’s Week 3 slate of games. Here is a breakdown of how they played and their PFF grades.
Around the league
McKivitz has proven his recent three-year, $45 million contract extension to be a great investment for the San Francisco 49ers. He was the highest-rated offensive lineman on the team at 69.0, playing in all 65 snaps. He protected quarterback Mac Jones, allowing him to throw for 284 yards, earning a win against the Arizona Cardinals 16-15.
Dante Stills, DT
Across the line of scrimmage from McKivitz, Stills saw a total of 36 snaps, a 10 snap downgrade compared to the week prior. He made one tackle, assisted on two and missed a tackle.
Stills has seen solid playing time while listed as the Arizona Cardinals’ second-string defensive end.
Geno Smith, QB
The Las Vegas Raiders played from behind the entire game in a 41-24 loss against the Washington Commanders. This allowed Smith to air the ball out, completing 19 passes on 29 attempts for 288 yards and three touchdowns. He saw his highest offensive grade of the season at 84.2.
Even in the loss, this was a bounce-back week for Smith and the Raiders. Last week, Smith saw a league low 40.0 grade where the team only totaled 218 total yards of offense (150 passing).
Even though Frazier committed his first penalty of the season with a holding call in the third quarter, he totaled his best grade of the season at 67.3. Anchoring the line in 54 snaps, he led the way for a 21-14 victory for the Pittsburgh Steelers against the New England Patriots.
David Sills V, WR
With the Atlanta Falcons, Sills made his first NFL catch since Oct. 30, 2022, when he was playing for the New York Giants. He brought in a nine-yard catch in a 30-0 loss against the Carolina Panthers.
With three wide receivers listed on the Falcons’ injury report before Sunday’s game, it was expected that Sills would see an increase in playing time. He saw a season-high 16 snaps, primarily in the slot position.
While Douglas did not start for the Miami Dolphins, he saw 57 snaps in the 31-21 loss on Thursday night against the Buffalo Bills. He brought in three tackles, assisting on seven. Douglas saw two targets, allowing a catch for four yards.
With repetitions on the second team, Douglas plays a significant amount of snaps, playing 161 of 193 through three games. He has the second-highest defensive grade on the team at 71.8.
Rex Sunahara, LS
Sunahra had the city of Cleveland relying on him to execute the last snap of a game-winning field goal, in which the Browns defeated the Green Bay Packers 13-10, in the biggest upset of the week.
He saw nine snaps through the game with six punts and three field goals/point after touchdowns.
Austin Brinkman, LS
Brinkman saw a 64.5 grade on nine snaps, six punts, and three field goals/PATs. As a member of the Houston Texans, he saw a 17-10 loss against the Jacksonville Jaguars.
With the Jaguars, Milum is still waiting to make his NFL debut, as he landed on the inactive list for the third straight week with a knee injury.
Kyzir White, L
White played 20 snaps against the Colts and collected three tackles.
