Jake Casteel hired as head coach at Glenville State
West Virginia defensive assistant Jake Casteel has been hired as the head coach at Glenville State.
Casteel served as a defensive assistant coach with the Mountaineers this past season working with the bandits and returned to the program after a stint as a graduate assistant in 2021.
Casteel also had stints as a graduate assistant at his alma mater Northern Arizona and then Boise State, before being hired as linebackers coach and co-special teams coordinator at Cal-Poly in 2022.
Casteel would then head to Jacksonville State where he worked as the defensive analyst and SAMs coach in 2024.
“It’s an honor to be named the head coach at Glenville State. I am excited to build on the tradition of this program and make the university, community and alumni proud to be Pioneers,” said Casteel in a release.
Casteel is the son of longtime West Virginia defensive coordinator and current bandits coach Jeff Casteel.
