JUCO RB Martavious Boswell commits to West Virginia
West Virginia has landed a key piece in the backfield with a commitment from Wesson (Miss.) Co-Lin 2026 running back Martavious Boswell.
Boswell, 5-foot-9, 175-pounds, picked the Mountaineers over his other finalists which included Mississippi State, Kansas State and Tulsa. The junior college running back took an official visit to Morgantown over the weekend and that’s when West Virginia jumped in with a scholarship offer.
Running backs coach Larry Porter served as the lead recruiter for Boswell and during his official visit he was able to get an idea on how he would fit into the program.
“What stood out to me was how they were talking about how I can come in and possibly be that guy,” Boswell said following the trip.
The Texas native is coming off a season where he rushed for 1,109 yards and 13 touchdowns while averaging 8.5 per carry.
Boswell becomes the third running back commitment for West Virginia in the 2026 recruiting class and is the first to come from the junior college level.
The Mountaineers are now up to 31 commitments in the 2026 cycle.
WVSports.com will have more with Boswell in the near future.
