Report: Jaylen Henderson to start at quarterback for WVU

ESPN’s Pete Thamel is reporting that West Virginia is expected to turn to redshirt senior Jaylen Henderson at quarterback against Utah on Saturday with Nicco Marchiol sidelined by injury.
Henderson, who transferred from Texas A&M, has appeared in all four games this season and gives the Mountaineers a dual-threat option. He has already rushed for 118 yards while also providing experience after starting four games for the Aggies in 2023. Henderson began his career at Fresno State before transferring to College Station.
Marchiol has been the starter through the first four games of the year, but after experiencing foot pain this week, he was sent to Colorado to see a specialist. That opened the door for Henderson to make his first career start in Morgantown.
The Mountaineers (2-2) will kick off against Utah (3-1) at 3:30 p.m. ET Saturday on FOX.
