Robby Porco selected by the Dodgers in 2025 MLB Draft

West Virginia’s Robby Porcowas taken in the 13th round of the 2025 MLB Draft, being selected by the Los Angeles Dodgers.
Porco spent three seasons with WVU, with an up-and-down experience on the mound.
This past season, Porco tossed 21.1 innings, after he threw only 10.1 innings in 2024. Porco had a 4.64 ERA this past season, striking out 24 batters. Porco struggled to control his stuff, walking 24 batters in the process.
Porco has a fastball that can reach the upper 90s, but has struggled with his command. In his three seasons as a Mountaineer, he combined for 67.2 innings pitched. He had 79 strikeouts, while he walked 66 total batters.
Porco is a native of Warrington, Pa., and bounced between a starting role and a bullpen role throughout his time at West Virginia. Porco is able to provide a lively arm, with a 6-foot-8 frame that offers upside to major league clubs.
Porco had a 7.50 ERA his freshman year, followed by a 8.71 ERA his sophomore year. Porco also allowed 12 home runs throughout his Mountaineer career.
His batting average against is at .228, while he keeps the ball on the ground with a 52.8% groundball percentage in his career at WVU. Porco also had a 23.4% strikeout percentage in his three years with West Virginia.
