West Virginia head coach Ross Hodge has announced the signing of Bella Vista Prep (Az.) center Aliou Dioum.

Dioum, 6-foot-10, is the 89th rated player in the 2026 class according to Rivals. He moved onto the radar for the Mountaineers after an impressive performance at Peach Jam where he earned an offer.

From there West Virginia was able to beat out multiple options including Mississippi State and Wake Forest.

He is native of Dakar.

“We are excited to have Aliou joining our program,” Hodge said. “He has a high motor and passion for the game. Aliou has tremendous versatility and has a chance to be an elite defender. He continues to improve and has great upside as his best basketball is ahead of him. Aliou has a passion for his teammates and other people that aligns with what we want here at WVU.”
