Ross Hodge announces signing of guard Kingston Whitty

West Virginia head coach Ross Hodge has announced that Christ School (N.C.) 2026 point guard Kingston Whitty has signed with the Mountaineers.
Whitty, 6-foot-2, 165-pounds, gives the Mountaineers a skilled guard that saw his profile continue to rise over the past several months. West Virginia was involved early and that led to his eventual pledge to the Big 12 Conference program.
“We feel Kingston is one of the most underrated guards in the country,” Hodge said. “He is a great player but even better person. His character and work ethic will fit perfectly with our program. He is a natural competitor who works at a high level.”
Last year, Whitty averaged 10.4 points, 3.3 rebounds and 1.9 assists per game while shooting 51% from the floor and 33% from 3-point range at Holy Innocents Episcopal in Georgia.
Whitty finished with a standout performance in the Under Armor Association, where he averaged 18.7 points, 4.4 rebounds and 4.1 assists per game.
Whitty is a three-star prospect according to Rivals.com.
The guard also held offers from Marshall, Toledo, Old Dominion, George Mason, Liberty, New Mexico State and a number of others.
