West Virginia has added another commitment to the 2026 class by flipping the pledge of New Orleans (La.) Edna Carr 2026 athlete John Johnson from Washington State.

Johnson, 6-foot-0, 180-pounds, had been committed to the Cougars since Nov. 12 but elected to cast his lot with the Mountaineers, giving the program a versatile athlete. A quarterback in high school, Johnson has the athleticism to play multiple positions at the college level.

Johnson was previously committed to Liberty prior to his pledge to the Cougars.

The Rivals three-star prospect also held offers from Nebraska, Tulane, Southern Mississippi, Liberty, Troy, Arkansas State, South Alabama and a number of others.

WVSports.com will have more with Johnson in the near future.
