Takeaways from West Virginia’s snap counts
West Virginia played one quarterback for the third consecutive game as Fox has seemed to take hold at the position. The Mountaineers trimmed down on the rotations on offense even more than before as only 16 others saw time with that being just five wide receivers and five offensive linemen.
On defense, the Mountaineers played 26 total players with the biggest difference coming at linebacker with nine different players seeing the field at those spots. The rest of the groups stayed relatively static although the coaches did get a few more safeties into the game.
West Virginia also saw Jones play on both sides of the ball for the first time this season.
