West Virginia lands 2027 infielder Cooper Sievert

West Virginia has dipped back into the Midwest to add to its future baseball roster with the commitment of Wisconsin Lutheran (Wis.) 2027 infielder Cooper Sievert.
A versatile defender
Sievert, who plays both shortstop and third base, has the ability to move around the infield and projects as a utility option at the next level. At 5-foot-11, 180 pounds, he brings a strong frame that has continued to develop.
Standout measurables
The right-handed hitter has posted some impressive testing numbers. He’s been clocked at 91 miles per hour across the infield and has an exit velocity that has topped out at 96.1. Sievert also recorded a 6.85-second 60-yard dash, showing the kind of athleticism that can translate to multiple spots on the diamond.
Continued growth
Sievert has been a consistent performer on the summer circuit with GRB STiKS and has already shown signs of improvement in both his defensive tools and at the plate. His combination of bat speed, defensive arm strength, and overall versatility gives the Mountaineers another intriguing piece for the future.
