West Virginia to face Ohio State in Cleveland Hoops Showdown

West Virginia will meet Ohio State on Dec. 13 at Rocket Arena in Cleveland as part of the Cleveland Hoops Showdown. It’s the third time the two teams will play in Cleveland since 2019, with the Buckeyes winning last year’s overtime matchup, 78-75.
The season will be the Mountaineers’ first under new head coach Ross Hodge, who takes over with an entirely rebuilt roster that includes former North Texas standouts Brenen Lorient and Jasper Floyd, along with All-Conference transfers Treysen Eaglestaff and Honor Huff.
Game time and TV details will be announced later. Tickets go on sale Oct. 9, with a presale on Oct. 8 at: https://www.rocketarena.com/events/detail/hoops-showdown-251213
Hodge called it “another exciting early season matchup” and noted the opportunity to play in an NBA arena with likely national TV coverage.
