The West Virginia and Wake Forest basketball teams will square off twice over the next two seasons in a neutral site series.

The first game will be held December 6, 2025 at the Charleston Coliseum, while the second date in 2026 will be in Greensboro, North Carolina at First Horizon Coliseum although the date has yet to be set.

The 2025 game will mark the fourth between the Mountaineers and the Deacons on a neutral floor and 11th overall meeting dating back to 1948. West Virginia leads the series 7-3, including a thrilling double overtime win in the second round of the 2005 NCAA Tournament.

“We are thrilled to be able to play a really good Wake Forest team in front of our fans in southern West Virginia. It’s been a long time since the men’s basketball team played in Charleston and when we were presented with this two-game neutral site series against Wake Forest, it certainly made sense for us,” head coach Ross Hodge said. “As we continue to build our nonconference schedule, this is a quality opponent from the ACC, and I know our fans will be excited and be there to support us.”
