WVU lands 2027 commitment from RHP Jaden Bakhit

West Virginia baseball has picked up a commitment from 2027 prospect Jaden Bakhit, a right-handed pitcher from Mason, Ohio.
Bakhit, who attends William Mason High School and plays travel ball with the Cincinnati Spikes. He brings a physical 6-foot-3, 225-pound frame with standout two-way ability.
On the mound
The right-hander has shown a fastball topping out at 93 mph with a compact delivery and firm release. He also mixes in a curveball in the low-to-mid 70s with strong spin rates, giving him a developing arsenal that projects well at the next level.
At the plate
Offensively, Bakhit has posted exit velocities over 100 mph and shows big power potential with a strong, leveraged swing. His arm strength has also stood out in the outfield, where he’s recorded throws up to 82 mph.
Scouting notes
Perfect Game tabbed him as a Top Prospect List selection at the Ohio Valley Showcase, noting his present strength, compact swing, and “real pop in his bat.” Prep Baseball Report highlighted his combination of velocity and power, as well as his athleticism for his size.
Bakhit becomes one of the first members of WVU’s 2027 class, giving the Mountaineers a high-upside addition with tools to contribute on both sides of the ball.
